Marius Borg Høiby was taken into custody on Sunday evening, facing fresh allegations of bodily harm, threatening someone with a knife, and breaching a restraining order.
The 29-year-old’s detention comes just days before he is scheduled to appear in an Oslo courtroom on Tuesday for a seven-week trial.
Høiby faces a total of 38 charges, among them four allegations of rape, domestic violence against a former partner, and secretly recording multiple women without their consent.
His lawyer, Petar Sekulic, previously told GB News: “Our client denies all charges of sexual abuse, as well as the majority of the charges regarding violence. He will present a detailed account of his version of events before the court.”

Oslo police prosecutor Andreas Kruszewski confirmed the arrest, stating: “The Oslo police district can confirm that Marius Borg Høiby was arrested on Sunday evening and charged with bodily harm, making threats involving a knife, and breach of a restraining order.”
GB News has contacted the Royal House of Norway for comment regarding the new allegations.
Authorities have sought four weeks of pre-trial detention, citing concerns that Høiby may commit further offences if released.
“The police have requested four weeks of pre-trial detention due to the risk of reoffending. The detention hearing will be held in chambers. Beyond this, the police have no further comments at this time,” Mr Kruszewski added.
Oslo district court is expected to rule on whether to remand Høiby in custody on Monday afternoon, just hours before his scheduled rape trial is due to commence.

The arrest compounds an already turbulent period for the Norwegian royal household, which is simultaneously grappling with revelations about the crown princess’s past association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The crown princess has been forced to address uncomfortable questions about her connection to the late financier Epstein following the release of unsealed US Justice Department documents on Friday.
Her name features close to 1,000 times in the newly published files, prompting Mette-Marit to issue a statement acknowledging her misjudgement.
“I showed poor judgment and I deeply regret having had any contact with Epstein. It is simply embarrassing,” the Crown Princess said in a statement to GB News through the royal palace on Saturday.

The Crown Princess additionally accepted responsibility “for not having checked Epstein’s background more closely and not understanding quickly enough what kind of person he was.”
Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre weighed in on Monday, saying he expected “the Norwegians mentioned” in the documents to “comment on the truth about what happened”.
“The crown princess herself has stated that she has shown poor judgment, which I agree with,” the prime minister remarked.
Being named in the files does not indicate any wrongdoing.
The correspondence between Mette-Marit and Epstein reveals they maintained close contact from 2011 to 2014, well after he had pleaded guilty to charges including soliciting prostitution from a minor in Florida.
