Former Labour MP Stephen Pound has questioned the “mystery” of Reform UK’s civil war between Rupert Lowe and Nigel Farage following the MP’s suspension.
Lowe, 67, was suspended by the party on Friday following allegations of bullying and threats of physical violence.
The now independent MP for Great Yarmouth has denied the allegations, branding them “vexatious”.
However, party leader Nigel Farage has declared that there is “no way back” for the former Reform UK representative amid an ongoing police investigation.

Weighing in on the row, former Labour MP Stephen Pound told GB News that the row could cause “more bad news” for Labour if the party was to split even further.
Pound explained: “I talked to a friend of mine the other day and she was saying to me, ‘this is really good news for Labour, isn’t it?’ I said, no, it’s the opposite.
“Because if Reform splits, and it’s Ben Habib possibly and Rupert Lowe forming another party, on the left you’re going to have the Greens, the Liberal Democrats and Labour – on the right you can have all this. So it helps the Tories.”
Pound was particularly confused by Lowe accusing Reform figures of briefing the media that he is showing signs of dementia.

Pound said: “There were letters published yesterday from every single member of Rupert Lowe’s staff, eight members of staff, who think he’s a great guy.
“Every single one of them said he’s a decent bloke, he’s never sworn at us – so what’s going on here? And this stuff about Alzheimer’s? That was terrible.”
Offering his view on the Reform row, commentator Mike Parry argued that the party has lost “one of the most effective performers in Parliament”.
He told GB News: “46 per cent of all Reform presence in the House of Commons is from Rupert Lowe. 46 per cent.

“They’ve lost almost half of their of their impact in the House of Commons, because he’s such a hard working backbencher.”
Lowe was reported to Scotland Yard by Reform UK on March 6 regarding an incident from December last year. However, the Metropolitan Police has confirmed its investigation will cover other allegations of threatening behaviour.
Confirming an investigation is now underway, a Scotland Yard spokesman said: “Our original statement referred to alleged threats made in December 2024.
“We would like to clarify that when this matter was reported to us it referred to a series of alleged threats made between December 2024 and February 2025. Further enquiries are ongoing at this stage.”
