Robbie Williams has revealed possible plans to open his own global chain of hotels with music venues inside them.

The Take That star, 51, kicked off his Long 90’s Tour in Glasgow yesterday but has more travel-related ideas in the works.

He reflected to BBC Breakfast’s culture correspondent Charlotte Gallagher on how different his life is now compared to his younger years, and his plans for the future.

‘There’s plenty I want to do, I want to build hotels,’ Robbie opened up as he sat on the edge of a stage beside a drum set.

Charlotte asked: ‘Where? Where do you want to build your hotels?’

‘Anywhere!’ he exclaimed, before revealing he hopes to be able to perform inside his own hotels.

‘I want to build hotels with my own venues in and then I want to play my own hotels,’ the singer explained.

Robbie continued: ‘I want to do a university of entertainment.

‘I’ve got the syllabus in my mind and it would be a great revenge on education for somebody that left school with nothing higher than a D to go in and revolutionise education.’

The father-of-four recently made Official Albums Chart history as he surpassed The Beatles to become the artist with the most UK Number One albums of all time.

Robbie scored his 16th chart-topping LP with new release BRITPOP, overtaking John, Paul, George and Ringo to claim more Number One albums than any other artist in UK chart history.

Speaking about the milestone, Robbie said: ‘BRITPOP is the record I’ve always wanted to make, and seeing it become my 16th Number 1 album means everything to me.

‘Thank you to all the fans who have been with me every step of the way. You’ve made my dreams come true.’

Robbie’s first Number One album as a solo artist came with his 1997 debut Life Thru a Lens.

His other chart-toppers include – I’ve Been Expecting You’ (1998), ‘Sing When You’re Winning’ (2000), ‘Swing When You’re Winning’ (2001), ‘Escapology’ (2002), ‘Greatest Hits’ (2004), ‘Intensive Care’ (2005), ‘Rudebox’ (2006), ‘In and Out of Consciousness: Greatest Hits 1990-2010’ (2010).

‘Take The Crown’ (2012), ‘Swings Both Ways’ (2013), ‘The Heavy Entertainment Show’ (2016), ‘The Christmas Present’ (2019), ‘XXV’ (2022), ‘Better Man (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)’ (2025) and ‘BRITPOP’ (2026) also feature.

The singer surprised fans by releasing his new album three weeks earlier than planned.

The unexpected drop came in the early hours of Friday, January 16 morning, with the album artwork projected onto several famous London landmarks to mark the launch.

Originally due to be released in October, BRITPOP was pushed back to February, to avoid a clash with Taylor Swift’s Life Of A Showgirl, with Robbie admitting that he ‘couldn’t compete’ with the American star.
