Two properties have been searched by police officers as part of Scotland Yard’s investigation into Lord Mandelson.
Officers were spotted outside Lord Mandelson’s £2.5million Regent’s Park property on Friday afternoon.
A second search took place at another property connected to Lord Mandelson in Wiltshire.
The Metropolitan Police’s deputy assistant commissioner Hayley Sewart stressed the 72-year-old man included in the investigation has not been arrested.
She said: “I can confirm that officers from the Met’s Central Specialist Crime team are in the process of carrying out search warrants at two addresses, one in the Wiltshire area, and another in the Camden area.
“The searches are related to an ongoing investigation into misconduct in public office offences, involving a 72-year-old man. He has not been arrested and enquiries are ongoing.”
