Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp has dismissed Reform UK’s recent surge in polling, insisting “most polls over the last three or four months have the Conservatives ahead of Reform UK”.
Speaking to GB News, Philp challenged the narrative of Reform UK’s growing popularity, stating the party is “not smashing the Conservatives in the polls” despite recent figures proving otherwise.
Recent polling data shows unprecedented support for Nigel Farage’s party. A Find Out Now survey released yesterday shows Reform UK commanding a 27 per cent share of voter support, putting them four points ahead of Labour and six points ahead of the Conservatives.

“What Reform did at the last election was exactly what we warned about. They handed Labour a landslide. Labour have got a massive parliamentary majority, and 34 per cent of the vote at the last election, it’s obviously gone down a lot since then.
“Then the number of seats where we might have retained a Conservative MP and Reform didn’t win, but got enough votes to hand the seat to Labour and we’ve now got left wing woke Labour MPs.”

He added: “Labour introduced a bill yesterday you probably saw which completely cancels the Rwanda scheme.
“So we can’t now send people to Rwanda, that would have worked. That would have stopped the channel crossings.
“We saw it work in Australia, but in Government a couple of years ago we passed a bill, an act of Parliament called the Illegal Migration Act, which said that illegal immigrants can never, ever get citizenship right.
“That was the right thing to do that we did in Government. Labour are now going to scrap that so illegal immigrants can get citizenship, which is a complete disgrace.
“Because Reform stood in all those seats last summer, they handed Labour that landslide. This is what Starmer is now doing with that landslide, giving illegal immigrants citizenship rights.”
However, new polling data appears to contradict Philp’s assessment.
The poll of 2,487 UK adults indicates the Conservatives would achieve just 21 per cent of the vote.
Separate research by Survation has also placed Reform UK ahead of the Conservatives, with Farage’s party at 24 per cent compared to the Tories’ 22 per cent.

The Survation poll shows Labour leading on 27 per cent, with Reform UK just three points behind.
According to Survation’s strategy and research manager Jack Peacock, “The electorate is fragmented, with disillusioned voters seeking alternatives beyond the two main parties.”
The polling suggests Reform UK is drawing significant support from former Conservative voters, with nearly one in five (19%) who backed the Tories in July now supporting Farage’s party.
Nigel Farage has indicated his party needs to break the 30 per cent support barrier to achieve a major electoral breakthrough in 2029.
