GB News’s Matt Goodwin was left stunned after learning that just five per cent of Britons believe Labour usually acts in the national interest, according to a new poll.
The revelation came during a discussion with pollster Martin Baxter, who shared the damning statistic from a recent Find Out Now survey.
Baxter told GB News: “It’s probably a number of factors, if we’re honest, but immigration could certainly be one of the major ones.
“It probably was for Donald Trump’s victory in the United States. The issues there were immigration and the economy and inflation.

“We may see similar things in Britain as well. So we did a poll recently with Find Out Now that just came out today, showing that only five per cent of Britons think that Labour usually acts in the national interest.

Baxter explained: “That’s come out today. Overall, the figures for Labour as a government are not good.”
He added: “Reform are definitely on a tear in the polls, they’re up and Labour is down.
“So this month for the first month ever, our monthly poll of polls has Reform ahead of the Conservatives just by one per cent and only two per cent behind Labour.”
The Reform UK party has experienced dramatic growth in support, with recent polls indicating they could secure 118 seats at the next general election.

The poll reveals a crisis of trust for Labour, with only 16 per cent of people approving of Keir Starmer’s performance, according to YouGov figures.
The Labour leader’s net approval rating stands at -35 per cent, which pollster Martin Baxter described as “Prince Andrew territory”.
Trust in Labour’s Brexit stance is particularly low, with just nine per cent of voters saying they trust Starmer “a lot” to maximise Brexit opportunities.

Immigration appears to be a key factor driving Reform UK’s rise, with polling showing strong public sentiment on border control.
Some 64 per cent of voters believe small boats arrivals should be returned to France, including 96 per cent of Reform UK supporters.
More than half of respondents, 52 per cent, support leaving the European Convention on Human Rights if it prevents deporting serious criminal migrants.
Only 20 per cent of people say they are happy with current immigration levels.
