There is not enough consumer demand in America to justify the 2032 transition to electric vehicles, an expert has claimed.
The Biden administration is planning to mandate 67 per cent of new vehicles being electric by 2032.
Mickey Anderson, the CEO of Baxter Auto Group, is sceptical of the US Government’s ambitions.
“It might be achievable, but what seems unachievable is getting that amount of consumer adoption that quickly”, he said.

“There are real logistical limitations to what the American consumer is willing or at this point interested in buying.
“What we’re seeing in US car dealerships across the country is demand for these products that runs well below the supply.

“It would be extraordinary below ambitions at this point.”
Hitting back during the GB News debate was Ethan Bearman, owner and attorney of The Bearman Firm, who argued the US Government are right to set lofty ambitions.
He told Patrick Christys: “Nobody rises to low expectations.”
“Putting it out there is important”, he added. “The consumer demand is actually there and I would suggest to my esteemed debating partner that dealerships are what needs to be addressed.
“Training sales people, educating them, getting the dealerships to install electric car chargers.
“Dealerships need to be wiser about the long term implications.”
Joe Biden has pressed hard to force the transition to electric vehicles with plans to build a network of 500,000 chargers across the country.
The project’s cost is an eye-watering $7.5 billion after Congress loosened the purse strings at the behest of the Biden administration in 2021.
The plan is a key cog of Biden’s climate change agenda, but the lack of electric chargers has dissuaded Americans from making the switch.
Anderson says the lack of chargers is not the only problem, as the limitations for the cars are “clear”.
