Author and Vanity Fair Royal Editor Katie Nicholl has weighed in on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s silence following the release of a new book by Omid Scobie.
Endgame, the second royal biography penned by the Sussex ally, made several new claims about the Royal Family and sparked a fresh royal race row.
The most controversial allegations in the book involve Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and their son Prince Archie.
In the book, it is alleged that “two members of the royal household” had sparked conversations about the “colour of Archie’s skin” whilst Meghan was pregnant.

The accusation was first brought to light in 2021, when Meghan told Oprah Winfrey in the couple’s bombshell televised interview that “one” member of the Royal Family had sparked the conversation about their unborn child.
Meghan told Oprah there were “concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he’s born”.
Since the release of the book a week ago, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have remained silent, and have not made clear if they had any involvement in Scobie’s biography.
Speaking to GB News, Nicholl shared her thoughts on whether the royal couple should retain their royal titles, amid the race row.
Host Isabel Webster highlighted: “Princess Diana had her HRH stripped from her for far fewer transgressions. You could argue she never brought any sort of allegations like this upon the Royal Family.”
Nicholl responded: “No, she divorced the Royal Family. And some might say that that’s exactly what Harry and Meghan have done in all but name. They’ve upped and left.
“And of course, you know, there’s a possibility that the decision to strip them of their titles won’t actually have to be made by the Royals. It may be made through the Houses of Parliament.
“We know from this couple that they will do everything possible to hold on to those titles, because without the ‘Duke and Duchess’ they’re just Harry and Meghan, and that simply doesn’t carry the same amount of weight.”

Nicholl then discussed the possibility of a statement from Harry and Meghan in response to the publication of Endgame, and shut down any chances of the couple speaking out.
She said: “I think it’s very unlikely that there’s going to be any comment out of the Sussexes camp.
“My experience in all of this is that when these sort of inflammatory books come out, the Palace’s view is to give the dust time to settle. It inevitably does.
“It did the first time around after these alleged racist comments were made. I think for the palace to wade in at this stage will only give further oxygen to the publicity of a book that frankly, they just want to go away.”
